Children separated from their birth families experience unremitting grief during the separation. This unspoken trauma can be reduced if foster parents and children’s biological parents find ways to communicate regularly and collaboratively during the child’s time in care. This presentation will summarize benefits of, barriers to, and solutions for building a positive coparenting alliance between the two families.
