Presidents Council will be for local FAPA boards to come together and talk about state wide issues, hear specific topics of issues that are relevant for the whole state, and provide feedback pointers, etc.

Event Speaker: Dr Ann Lindsey-Mowery, Strong Foundations
Strong Foundations is a cooperative agreement awarded to Embrace Families Community Based Care under the funding opportunity Strengthening Child Welfare Systems to Achieve Expected Child and Family Outcomes. As a cooperative agreement, the Children’s Bureau has worked closely with the Strong Foundations team to plan how to strategically invest in Florida’s child welfare system. Over the next year, the project team will create a supervisory certification process, will develop a tool to assist case management with assigning cases equitably, and will focus on ensuring that all child welfare partners have core information regarding the reunification of children in out of home care. As part of this project, a specialized training and supporting tools are being developed for foster parents to aid their learning and understanding of all things related to reunification and their role in the process.
