Foster Florida began in November of 2015 on Orphan Sunday fueled by a passion to bring awareness to our community about the need for strong families to step into foster care, and the need for them to be supported. We held our first official meeting on December 6, 2015 at the Family Church in Gainesville. Over fifty people showed up expressing a desire to step into foster care or a desire to support foster families. We realized people wanted to help but didn’t know how to take the next steps to saying yes. From here, Foster Florida was born.
